Caceres likes Arsenal and wants 'dream' Premier League move

Caceres plays for a team called Liverpool FC in the Uruguayan league, and the English Liverpool are one of a number of Premier League clubs interested in his signature. However, the defender seemed most excited about the links to Arsenal.
-
“This was flattering to hear this as they are a top team,” he said“I don’t know much about their new manager but I watch Arsenal a lot as I like the style of football.
-
“To play in the Premier League would be a dream for me as my ambitions are firstly to play in Europe and then play a World Cup with the Uruguay first team. I like the Premier League a lot because it’s the league that is the most competitive in Europe.”
-
Caceres made his debut for his current side last August, and he’s getting more and more involved in the team. Right now he’s coming off the back of 19 starts in a row for the side, completing 90 minutes on all but one occasion. He also started playing for his country at youth level, but hasn’t made a senior international debut just yet.
-
Another positive is that the player reportedly already holds a Spanish passport. He therefore doesn’t require a work permit to come and play in Europe, despite his Uruguayan background.
-
Arsenal have plenty of young defenders, but perhaps as the current crop either step up to the first team or move on to new clubs, it could be the perfect time to bring in a talented 18-year-old. We’ll find out whether the Gunners really do have an interest in Caceres in the coming weeks.
