Done Deal: Club President confirm deal for Arsenal 3rd signing

Arsenal have basically signed Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos, but no agreement has been reached yet, according to reports on Goal.
-
The defender has been the subject of talks between the two clubs for over a month now, with a €16 million fee being quoted in some corners.
Some reports have even claimed a deal has been agreed between the two clubs with announcement of the move, all that is remaining.
-
However, Dortmund Sporting director Michael Zorc has clarified those claims. Speaking to the media, he said; “ It looks like he will go there, that’s right. But things are not completely finalised yet.
“And I will not work with you now and talk about the rumour mill, which includes 27 new BVB players since the end of May.
-
“In the meantime, we are having fun ourselves and planning. We have clear ideas and I am very sure that we will put together a very good team.
“This will not necessarily be the case until the start of the season, because the coach wants to make an impression on the players who are under contract with us.”
-
The Gunners have already begun summer business, with the signings of Swiss defender Stephan Lichtsteiner from Juventus on a free and German goalkeeper Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen, and are expected to add Sokratis and Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torriera in the coming weeks.
