Arsenal have entered a new era following the departure of long-term manager Arsene Wenger and there was a chance that further major changes could occur.
Italian giants AC Milan were widely reported to be keen on luring Arsenal’s chief executive Ivan Gazidis to the San Siro, although The Sun cites reports indicating that he has rejected the opportunity of a move.
Milan, under new ownership, have changed owners after Yonghong Li defaulted on his debts and face a struggle to adhere to UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations after being barred from European competitions this season.
53-year-old Gazidis was identified as the ideal candidate to rejuvenate the club at boardroom level but, following a significant rise of importance in north London this summer, has elected to remain loyal to the Premier League side.
Gazidis has enjoyed a successful few months after playing a key part in Arsenal’s recruitment in 2018, as well as securing Mesut Ozil down to a lucrative new contract.
