Arsenal looking to the future by scouting Sebastian Walukiewicz

While Liverpool’s heavy spending and the drama at Chelsea have caught the attention of many, Arsenal have quietly gone about their business.
The club’s moves for Torreira, Leno, Sokratis or Lichtsteiner may not have grabbed the attention of Liverpool’s record-breaking fee for Alisson but nevertheless, Arsenal have conducted some shrewd moves.
Unai Emery has strengthened almost every single weakness with the squad. With the defence, midfielder and goalkeeping positions now stronger, the Gunners may be about to have a surprisingly good season.
The club aren’t done yet though, as according to The Sun, Arsenal are scouting Polish centreback, Sebastian Walukiewicz.
The 18-year-old defender is being targeted by Emery but has also attracted interest from Mark Hughes.
The young defender made his debut for Pogon Szczecin last season before going on to play a further two games for the club. The defender also started the club’s first league game this year against Miedz Legnica albeit losing 1-0.
Similar to Arsenal’s other young Polish defender, Krystian Bielik, Walukiewicz can also play as both a defender and holding midfielder.
While Bielik has seemingly begun to fall out of favour with the club, Walukiewicz is regarded as one of the best young players in Europe and could be a steal for Arsenal.
With Mustafi’s future unclear, and Koscielny’s body seemingly beginning to break down, a long-term replacement would be ideal for the Gunners.
It’s not a short-term priority right now but a deal for a young defender who could be a star of the future could be some great business.
