Arsenal set to pay £70m for Colombian star

Arsenal interested in a move for Bayern Munchen star James Rodriquez, who is thought to be unhappy with his current situation in the club and wants to leave.

Colombian international midfielder has moved to Allianz Arena from Real Madrid in 2017 on loan. Earlier Los Blancos sign him from Monaco with a £63m deal after impressive performances at the 2014 World Cup.

In his first season in Madrid, the 26-year old attacking midfielder has impressed with netting 17-goals for Los Blancos However he has struggled this term, under new Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has fallen out of favour.

Real president Florentino Perez will meet with Colombian forwards agent Jorge Mendes to confirm that 26-year old star should leave.

Now Mendes has lined up a list of potential suitors for James, with alongside with Chelsea are also in the hunt for Colombian star.

Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for the midfielder. The Blues now appear to have joined the race for his signature. La Liga giants are hoping to recoup as much as £70m for James, who still has one year left to run on his current loan.
