Confirmed: Arsenal cleared to seal deal for sensational Ligue 1 star as club finally agree to sell

Olympique Lyonnais are looking to triple their money through the purchase and sale of Tanguy Ndombele this summer, after his success with the club on loan last season.
.
Ndombele joined Lyon from Amiens on loan last summer, with an option to buy of €8m at the end of the deal.
.
The midfielder ended up being a big success, to the extent that he’s drawn interest from PSG, Juventus, Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester City, AS Roma and Arsenal, according to Le Progres.
.
The French outlet claims Lyon are planning to activate their option to buy, before selling on for “two and a half to three times the purchase price”. That puts the rough asking price for Ndombele at around €20-24m.
.
Considering the level of interest in the player, that’s actually not particularly expensive. From the looks of things, it wouldn’t even be Arsenal’s biggest deal of the summer, with the club closing in on the €30m signing of Lucas Torreira.
.
Ndombele made 50 appearances for Lyon last season, scoring one goal and assisting eight from midfield. His strengths are in possession, carrying the ball forward and playing accurate through balls, creating chances for fun.
.
Despite the relatively low cost, it still seems unlikely that Arsenal spend on another midfielder this summer.
.
Ndombele would struggle to start ahead of Xhaka, Torreira and Ramsey, especially with Elneny and Maitland-Niles expecting chances too.
.
Then again, if Ramsey ends up rejecting a contract extension to leave, the picture changes. We’ll see.
