Arsenal FC News: Jack Wilshere sends defiant message to Unai Emery ahead of Arsenal's Premier League clash with West Ham

Jack Wilshere says he's ready to show
Arsenal they were wrong to get rid of him when West Ham travel to the Emirates this weekend.

The 26-year-old midfielder parted company with his boyhood club this summer after failing to secure a new contract with the Gunners.

Wilshere was willing to take a pay cut on his current deal to extend his time in north London, but was told by Unai Emery that he would be a fringe player under him.

He opted to move across London to West Ham instead, where he was assured he'd be a regular part of Manuel Pellegrini's new look side.

Arsenal host West Ham this weekend, in what will be the first time Wilshere ever plays against the Gunners.

Ahead of the match he told West Ham's official website: "I've got to try and block all the emotion out.

"First of all, I've got to concentrate on football and I quite fancy our chances. I obviously know them really well. They've got a new manager, but I know the players, so hopefully it'll be a good time to play them.

"It'll be a strange one for me as I was never able to go there and play when I went out on loan as you can’t play against your parent club, but it's one I’m looking forward to.

"It's down to me to prove a point to Arsenal that they were wrong to get rid of me."
