Arsenal will sell €35m-rated star in order to fund move No.10 attacker

Unai Emery’s Arsenal must offload German midfielder Mesut Ozil before they can afford to secure the signature of Yannick Carrasco, a group of television sports channels Fox Sport Asia reports.

Carrasco, who currently plays for the Chinese club Dalian Yifang, is a top target for the Gunners this January window but without the sale of Mesut, the club do not have the funds to secure the winger.

Mesut has fallen out of favour under new Arsenal boss Unai Emery and it is believed that the Spanish tactician is willing to sell the attacking midfielder this month.

However, Arsenal’s management are struggling to find possible suitors for the former Real Madrid player because of his staggering £350,000 a week wages.

Yannick is on similar wages in China, meaning Arsenal can only afford him if Ozil is to depart. The Belgian star has spent less than a year in China but is already interested in a move back to Europe.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United are also understood to be interested in the forward and have the funds available to match his wage demands.
