Done Deal: inside source personally confirm Arsenal January transfer

Gooner247 brings you the latest Arsenal news, match analysis, transfer news, injury news, team news and rumours from trusted media outlets around the World.

Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Aaron Ramsey has signed a contract with Juventus ahead of a move this summer, according to the Daily Express.

There has been a lot of speculations in the media lately surrounding the Welshman’s future at Arsenal with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.

He has become free to begin precontract talks with foreign clubs as he enters the final six months of his contract.

Juventus have been linked with a move for him in the past months and are believed to have reached an agreement with him over a summer switch.

Romano revealed in a tweet that an agreement has been reached between the player and the Turin side, and a medical completed.

“ Aaron Ramsey has signed his contract today and will be new Juventus player.

“He also did medicals on last week.

“Done deal as a free agent for next June. ”

Should the claims turn out to be true, the Gunners would be losing out on a possible transfer fee they could have gotten if they had sold him this January, given the club’s current financial situation, that would be a chance they’ll rue.

Former Gunner Paul Merson believes Arsene Wenger is to blame for Ramsey’s contract debacle. “ It’s stupidity from Arsenal to allow someone of Ramsey’s quality to let their contract run down ,” he recently told Sky Sports.

“It’s yet another player after Alexis Sanchez, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Theo Walcott.

“Players’ contracts come to an end then they all leave on frees.

“In footballing terms, it’s criminal.

“It’s like buying an £80m house, waiting for the leasehold to run out and losing the house.

“Arsene Wenger sorted out his contract every year but seemed to forget everyone else’s!

“I wouldn’t mind if all these players were 35 years of age or older.

“But they are in the prime of their careers when they are playing their best football ever. “
