Good News: Arsenal handed summer transfer boost to sign Red Hot winger Leandro Trossard

Arsenal are targeting a summer move for Genk winger Leandro Trossard, according to reports.

Unai Emery wanted the Gunners to recruit a new wide midfielder in the January transfer window but the club were unable to secure late deals for either Ivan Perisic or Yannick Carrasco.

Arsenal remain in the market for a new winger and will be in a better position to complete a deal in the summer as they will have a larger transfer budget to spend.

According to Football.London, Trossard is high on Arsenal’s summer shortlist and the 24-year-old would be keen on a move to Emery’s side.

Trossard, who is valued at £22 million by Genk, is also being monitored by several Bundesliga clubs including Borussia Dortmund, who will be looking to replace Chelsea-bound winger Christian Pulisic at the end of the season.

Trossard has enjoyed a standout season for Genk with 17 goals and eight assists in 29 appearances so far.

The Belgian, who has not yet been capped by the senior side, predominantly plays on the left flank but is also capable of playing in a central role behind the striker.

Trossard will still have two years remaining on his contract with Genk in the summer.
