Ozil likes post CRITICISING Unai Emery after being left out again, Martins involved.

ARSENAL midfielder Mesut Ozil has liked an Instagram post criticising Unai Emery for leaving him out of the squad to face BATE Borisov tonight.

The German was left at home for the first leg of the Europa League clash with many unhappy with the decision.

Arsenal were 1-0 down to their opponents at half-time thanks to a Stanislav Dragun goal.

Ozil has not featured often for Emery this season who has blamed his absence on injury and tactical reasons.

And it looks like the 30-year-old could be set to leave the Emirates in the summer if he is surplus to requirements.

More immediately Ozil could be in hot water after liking a comment made by one Arsenal fan on Instagram.

A follower wrote: “We miss you bro. Keep fighting and stay strong.

“Show Emery, dumb pundits and the whole world they are wrong.”

Ozil agreeing with criticism of Emery will not go down well with the Spaniard and will likely not help his chances of getting back in the side.

And Gunners legend Martin Keown finds the whole situation bizarre.

He said: “Is he injured? Is he ill? One of the things as a player is that you have to be available for selection and give consistency.

“He hasn't been able to give either of those so he has to work to get back in to the team.

“That's what he has to do and what the manager wants him to do. But it's now becoming embarrassing the situation and with no Ramsey too.

“We don't know if he is really injured or not.

“To miss (100 matches) is quite remarkable. I would say that is questionable but only the player really knows.”

Arsenal return to action in the second leg against BATE next Thursday.

After that they face Southampton in the Premier League as they look to climb above Manchester United and into the top four.
