Arsenal plot shock swoop for Ander Herrera as Man Utd star unhappy

ARSENAL are interested in signing Ander Herrera from Manchester United when his contract expires in the summer, reports say.

The Spanish midfielder is unhappy the club have dragged their heels over a new deal, according to the Daily Mail.

And he admits speculation surrounding his future is inevitable, with Paris Saint-Germainsaid to be monitoring his situation as well.

“I do not concern myself with what will happen in four months, so I do not know if my time here is over,” he said.

“It's logical when you've got three months left on your contact and there is an international break. I knew something would come out.

“I take it as normal. I focus on playing football in the month-and-a-half that remains (of the season).

“The rest is left to my agent, both the possible renewal with United and any talks with another club for my departure.

“I enjoy playing for the biggest club in England. The fans love me, they have treated me phenomenally and my duty is to listen to them - although I honestly do not know what is going to happen.

“What I see myself is trying to win at Watford next week. If you deserve rewards and if you are an honest and hard-working person, they arrive.”

Herrera moved to Old Trafford from Athletic Bilbao in a £24million deal in 2014.

He is said to want a significant increase on his £80,000-per-week wages and previous reports have claimed PSG are willing to almost double that.

Any club who takes him could offer him a favourable deal as there would be no transfer fee to pay.

However, it is also reported that United will do all they can to keep him.

United also risk losing Juan Mata on a free when his contract expires in the summer while David de Gea's long-term future remains uncertain.

The club recently triggered a 12-month extension to the goalkeeper's contract but they might have to sell this summer or risk losing him for nothing next summer.
