Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: Emery eyes £35m summer move, boost in race for Man United target

Arsenal transfer news includes links from across Europe ahead of the summer transfer window

The transfer window may have been closed for over a month now, but Arsenal remain linked with summer moves for a number of different players.

Denis Suarez remains one of the key possibilities for the Gunners. With the Barcelona man currently on loan at Arsenal, the next few months appear in essence to be a long-term trial for the midfielder.

Among the other names repeatedly being linked with a move to the red side of North London is Lille's Nicolas Pepe, who has been a reported transfer target in both of the last two windows.

However, the most key position that Arsenal still need filling is that of their technical director, former player Marc Overmars and Roma's sporting director Monchi are the most prominent names in the frame.

These are today's latest updates on those stories and the newest transfer rumours involving Arsenal.

Yannick Carrasco

According to the Daily Express , Yannick Carrasco remains a target for Arsenal after they failed to force through a January move for the Belgian winger.

Talks were held with Dalian Yifang in the transfer window, with Arsenal keen on a loan deal with a view to a permanent switch in the summer.

But the Chinese club would only entertain a £35m bid for the former Atletico Madrid star.

Carrasco, however, remains on Arsenal's radar but they face competition from AC Milan and Inter Milan, with the Serie A giants keen to close the gap on dominant Juventus next season.

The winger's wages could be a problem for Arsenal, as he earns £8.8 million per year in China, which does not fit in with Unai Emery's brief to reduce their wage bill.

David Ospina

David Ospina made a surprise entrance in the second half of Napoli's Serie A clash with Juventus as goalkeeper Alex Meret was sent off for fouling Cristiano Ronaldo as the last man in the 25th minute.

It left Carlo Ancelotti's team down to 10 men, with Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik taken off so that the gap between the sticks could be filled by the on-loan Arsenal man.

Despite putting in some impressive performances during his time in Naples, the Colombian has found himself left out of the starting line up amid speculation over a clause in the the deal to take him to the south of Italy.

The Serie A side are stalling over giving Ospina game time that would force their hand over a transfer agreement between the two clubs. football.london understand that Napoli have agreed a clause that will allow them to purchase the 30-year-old.

Cengiz Under

Arsenal could benefit from Roma’s need to raise funds this summer as they could move for Cengiz Under.

The Turkish winger could be made available this summer, especially if Roma - who are currently fifth in Serie A - fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League, according to Italian publication Corriere dello Sport.

Under has been linked with a move to Arsenal and Manchester United in recent months, with the 21-year-old looking likely to be sold to raise funds.

Gabriel Martinelli

According to the Daily Mail, Unai Emery’s side have joined the hunt for Brazilian starlet Gabriel Martinelli - who is available for just £4m.

The midfielder currently plies his trade in South America with Ituano, who Middlesbrough have links with through former star Juninho, but face competition from Arsenal and Leeds for the teenager’s services.
