Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: Gunners offered chance to sign long-time target, agent speaks out

Arsenal transfer news includes links from across Europe ahead of the summer transfer window

The international break continues and Arsenal's transfer prospects continue to change.

The Gunners were only able to complete loan deals in January and there is the suggestion their budget will be in the region £40m. That could hold them back as they search for new signings, though if their league form continues Champions League football certainly won't do Unai Emery's side any harm.

The north London side have received a boost in the search for two midfielders, including one former Emery charge.

Check out the best of the latest rumours and updates below.

Adrien Rabiot

Adrien Rabiot’s future has been uncertain for near enough 12 months now. The PSG midfielder becomes a free agent summer and has been banned from the Parisian side’s training centre.

He now trains alone but despite his supposed transgressions the 23-year-old is allegedly asking for a salary of around €10m-per-year, plus a signing-on fee of between €10-15m, as he sits in a position of power given his contract situation in France.

Talks have been reported to be ongoing between Rabiot’s entourage and the three Premier League sides in Tottenham, Manchester City and Liverpool but the Gunners are in for a boost.

According to the player's mother and agent Veronique Rabiot, the Frenchman still does not have a club for next season and there have been no negotiations with anyone of late.

The midfielder has also been linked to the likes of Manchester United and Barcelona but personal circumstances have delayed the negotiating process.

Veronique told L’Equipe -  via Sport Witness - : "Everyone says that we have already signed with a club. But we did not sign anywhere!

"We really did not have the opportunity to worry about it. At the end of last year, I said that I would not speak with any club before January 1st. I have been out of this world for over two months, with all our misfortunes. There are priorities in life. They were elsewhere for us."

Rabiot’s mother further noted that there had been little contact from other agents about her son’s future.

"Not that much. Some have realised that our personal situation is difficult. I dare to believe that there are still some elegant people in this environment. I may have the weakness to believe it," she said.

Nicolas Pepe

Bein Sport believe that Bayern Munich have made a mammoth offer in the region of €80 million for the Lille winger. With Arsenal's budget thought to be around £40 million, it seems Unai Emery and co may have their work cut out to compete for the Ivory Coast international

It is believed that Gunners' new kit manufacturer Adidas may even be involved in that proposal in what is thought to be the Bavarian side's final offer according to Sport.

The Budesliga title-holders have long been considered favourites to sign the winger but they now want to tie the deal up early so as to prevent the star's fee rising too high if Lille qualify for the Champions League.

In the January transfer window the French side told Bayern that Pepe could only leave at the end of the season and Lille owner Gerard Lopez has claimed that the Ligue 1 club have received bids of over £40 million for Arsenal target Nicolas Pepe.

As reported in the  Birmingham Mail he said:

"[Pepe’s future] does not just depend on the club. It also depends on the player. He deserves to play at the highest level. We have offers, yes. There are clubs in England. We have had offers worth €50m (£43.2m). We will not sell for less, we have even refused a €50 million bid."

Arsenal may have to fact if they still intend on signing Ligue 1 talent.

Gelson Martins

Reports  suggest that Arsenal have been offered the opportunity to sign winger Gelson Martines this summer from Atletico Madrid and according to Portuguese outlet A Bola , Arsenal remain interested.

It's all sounding promising for a summer transfer for the Portuguese international they were keen to sign before he moved from Sporting Lisbon to La Liga.

There is a suggestion that the Gunners had a £25 million bid rejected before Martins eventually cancelled contract following a difficult summer in Portugal's capital that saw a number of departures.

But the 23-year-old has failed to settle at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium since joining last summer, and has since sealed a loan move to Monaco where he has rediscovered form - scoring three goals and providing an assist in seven games.

And the reports in Portugal claim Unai Emery’s side haven’t lost interest in the player, and could return in the summer transfer window.
