Good News: Chelsea agree to sell star man to Arsenal for £30m – 1st signing

Arsenal are weighing up a move for Chelsea defender David Luiz, according to reports.
Luiz recently lost his place in Chelsea’s starting xi to young Andreas Christensen and now looks set to be on the move. Apart from falling out of favor, he has fallen out with manager Antonio Conte, with reports claiming the pair had an heated argument after Luiz’s performance in Chelsea’s away loss to Roma last month.
The Daily Star via Daily Cannon has now mentioned Arsenal as one of the clubs who could offer Luiz an escape route out of Stamford Bridge.
The report claims Wenger is hopeful of signing Luiz when the January transfer window opens in a fortnight. Chelsea are willing to listen to offer in the region of £30m, which is a bit on the high side for a 30 year old.
Arsenal have been linked with several defenders in recent weeks and it isn’t difficult to see why it has been so. Per Mertesacker will retire at the end of the season, Calum Chambers an Rob Holding have been limited to bit part roles, leaving Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi as the two senior defenders. The latter duo have now begun to struggle with injuries, which has made the signing of a defender very important.
However, I don’t think Luiz will be a perfect signing for Arsenal. Although he is a very good defender, he can be sometimes erratic and those moments can cost his team a lot. Such a player is not what we need at Arsenal.
