Martin Keown names two reasons Man United would love to sign Mesut Ozil

Martin Keown has claimed that Jose Mourinho would love Manchester United to sign Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil.
The Red Devils have been linked with a controversial move to sign the German midfielder in the January transfer window.
Ozil has little over six months remaining on his current deal and the Arsenal number 11 will be free to speak to clubs next month.
Arsenal face a difficult decision should Ozil maintain his stance and refuse to sign a new deal with the north London club.
The World Cup will be free to leave for nothing next summer unless Arsenal decide to cash in on Ozil in January.
Ozil has worked under Mourinho during three seasons at Real Madrid before his £42.5m deal in the 2013 summer transfer window.
Former Arsenal defender Keown believes there are two reasons why Mourinho is interested in signing the 29-year-old midfielder.
“I think Jose Mourinho would love for that move to happen, for two reasons,” Keown told the Daily Mail.
“One, because of the quality of the player, and two because it would be a poke in the eye for Arsene Wenger. That rivalry between the two managers has not gone away.”
Ozil has won the FA Cup three times in four seasons but the German playmaker hasn’t helped Arsenal to secure their first Premier League title since 2004.
The Gunners midfielder has scored 33 times in 168 games in all competitions during his four-season stint at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal are in seventh place in the Premier League following Wednesday night’s goalless draw with West Ham.
