Sevilla star Steven N’Zonzi has rejected stories reporting he’s in London to discuss a possible £35m move to Arsenal this winter.

N’Zonzi is ready to leave Sevilla when the January transfer window opened after a bust-up with manager Eduardo Berizzo during the teams dramatic 3-3 draw with Liverpool last month.

The player has now announced that Berizzo blamed him for the club being 3-0 down at half-time and it’s believed N’Zonzi stormed out of the stadium and hadn’t performed for the club since.

The Mirror suggested earlier today that Arsenal are among the teams showing a keen interest in signing the French star with Arsene Wenger reportedly prepared to meet his £35m buyout clause.

N’Zonzi fired the speculation after flying-in to London yesterday, and the news outlet suggested he was in the capital to hold negotiations over a possible move this winter with Liverpool and Everton also understood to be in the race for his services.

But, while the 28-year-old has claimed he is in London, N’Zonzi says it’s got nothing to do with holding talks with Arsenal however rather see his son who lives in the London.

The midfielder is quoted as telling France Football: “I’m in London, but it has nothing to do with a transfer or even football. I came to see my son who lives there and enjoy it to spend time with him. You see, there is no question of a signature at Arsenal or elsewhere!

We are led 0-3 at the break (note: 3-3 in the end). The coach (Eduardo Berizzo) pointed a finger at me. I do not blame him, I’m not here to talk to him, but his words have affected me. Since then, something has broken in me, and at home too.

My future is elsewhere than in Seville. The only thing that deceives me is the way it ends.”
