New Chelsea signing: I’m counting on the support of Gary Cahill at Stamford Bridge

Ross Barkley has admitted that he will be counting on Gary Cahill to help the Chelsea signing adjust to life at Stamford Bridge.
The defending Premier League champions completed a £15m deal to sign the England international last week to make the England international their first addition of the January transfer window.
Barkley arrives at Stamford Bridge without having kicked a ball in a competitive game in the 2017-18 season following a long-term hamstring problem.
The Everton youth graduate was close to a move to the Premier League title holders in the summer but Barkley opted to remain at Goodison Park for another six months before finally completing his much anticipated switch to Chelsea.
Barkley was once billed as one of the most exciting English talents in the Premier League and earned comparisons to Three Lions legend Paul Gascoigne for his maverick style of football.
However, the 24-year-old has struggled to kick on under Sam Allardyce’s predecessor Ronald Koeman at Everton and a move to Chelsea represents a fresh start for Barkley to realise his potential.
And Barkley is hoping that he can count on Chelsea defender Gary Cahill and fellow midfielder Danny Drinkwater at Stamford Bridge.
“I know Gary Cahill from playing with England and I know Danny Drinkwater as well,” Barkley told Chelsea
“I’m looking forward to getting to know the other lads, and playing with them as well. There are world class players in the squad and I can’t wait to work with them every day.
“I’ll speak to them all a bit more once we’re training together and I’m mixing with the lads. If I need any advice obviously Gaz will be there for me.”
