Arsenal find themselves in a transitional period and the transfer window this summer is set to be crucial, as the Gunners look to claw their way back into the Premier League’s elite after a difficult few years.
Wholesale changes have already started to go on both behind the scenes and on the field, where long-serving players like Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott were both allowed to leave, and it’s likely to continue in the close season.
One area where improvements are needed is between the sticks, as Petr Cech has shown this season that he is past his best. Now 35, it’s time the Gunners called time on the former Chelsea man and signed a new stopper in the market.
The goalkeeping position has been a problem area for Arsenal for a while now and a major recruit in this area could solve a lot of problems. As such, these three targets should certainly be considered come the end of the season.

The 25-year-old German goalkeeper is one of the contenders to replace Manuel Neuer as his nation’s long-term number one and a transfer away from Bayer Leverkusen to the Premier League would significantly bolster his chances.
Leverkusen face a stern test this year to qualify for the Champions League, having missed out last season, and a transfer could become likely if the Bundesliga side fail to secure a top-four finish. Whilst Arsenal may not be able to offer opportunities in Europe’s elite competition, the lure of the Premier League cannot be forgotten.
Leno has plenty of years ahead of him and is already a strong, capable goalkeeper, which would provide a boost for the Gunners.

24-year-old Jack Butland has now spent five years at Stoke City, though the first two saw him move elsewhere on-loan, and he could seek a transfer this summer to improve his standing in the England set-up after the World Cup.
Butland could be first-choice for the Three Lions this summer but a transfer away from Stoke, who have struggled at the wrong end of the Premier League this season, could materialise either way- and a transfer to Arsenal would help him cement his spot in the national side.
Despite Stoke’s lowly position in the table, Butland has caught the eye and he can still be developed into a top-class goalkeeper.

The veteran option on this list, 31-year-old Keylor Navas could seek an exit from Real Madrid this summer if the serial European champions move forward with their long-term interest in Manchester United’s David De Gea or Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois.
In action for Costa Rica at the World Cup this summer, Navas will certainly demand first-team football and Arsenal can offer him the chance to be the undisputed number one at the club- although they may not be able to offer Champions League football.
Navas has won Europe’s biggest trophy three times in the past four years though with Real Madrid and may see Arsenal as a new challenge
