Arsenal to splash over £40m to sign this experienced EPL goalkeeper

Arsenal target Jack Butland has denied asking to leave Stoke City.
The Gunners were recently linked with Butland as a replacement for Petr Cech, who has been shaky on some occasions this season.
Cech, 34, has shown signs of ageing this season and with Wenger acknowledging he can’t carry on forever, the club is reportedly planning on signing a world class goalkeeper that would potentially replace the former Czech Republic international.
Reports were strong on Monday that Butland has been attracted by the prospect of playing for one of England’s top clubs and has asked for a transfer but the defender has now denied doing anything of sort.
Butland wrote on Twitter, as reported by Offthepost: “Before this spreads any further, I haven’t told the club I want to leave.
“I’m focused on doing everything I can to keep the club in this division! Stop believing everything you read!”
The England international was linked with a £40m move to Liverpool in January but Stoke were reluctant to sell. The Reds are expected to rival Arsenal for his services.
Top goalkeepers are becoming few in world football and even the ones that are already established or showing signs of being world class now costs a lot.
After Pickford’s £30m move to Everton last summer, I wouldn’t be surprised if Stoke demand a lot more than £40m for Butland because they know they have a player who is of high demand that they are reluctant to sell.
