Revealed: Arsenal Tried to sign 27-year-old Juventus Star

Juventus playmaker Miralem Pjanic has revealed that he turned down the opportunities to join both North London club Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur meaning his career could have turned out quite differently if he had accepted an offer from the Premier League heavyweights.
“You want to know the names? They were Arsenal and Tottenham,” Pjanic told the Daily Telegraph.
The 27-year-old midfielder was an emerging star at French giants when Arsene Wenger tried to sign him, a rather typical move from the Gunners boss plucking top young talent from his country.
The chance to go to Tottenham Hotspur came slightly later after Pjanic has made a switch to AS Romal with the North London club looking for a replacement for Luka Modric who has joined Real Madrid back in 2012.
“There was the opportunity but at that moment I told them I was happy where I was and that’s why we didn’t sign the deal,” Pjanic explained. “But I made my choice using my head and if I made that choice not to go to an English team it was for good reasons.”
Pjanic has been on of the key players for AS Roma making a €32m switch to Juventus in the summer of 2015/16 season.
The Bosnian midfielder has played 47 times for Italian champions in all competitions during his debut campaign, winning the Serie A title and failed to win the Champions League title as Real Madrid thrilled them in the final.
