Arsenal and Chelsea FC both want to sign 26-year-old Serie A star – report

Arsenal and Chelsea FC are both interested in signing Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly in the summer transfer window, according to a report in England.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that Arsenal and Chelsea FC are two of the Premier League clubs interested in signing the Senegal international.
The same article states that the London duo could face competition from second-placed Manchester United, who share an interest in the African defender.

According to the same story, Koulibaly’s impressive performances for the Serie A title challengers over the past two or three seasons have warranted interest from the Premier League.

The 26-year-old has scored four goals and has made one assist in 26 appearances in the Italian top flight this term to help Napoli challenge for the Serie A title alongside Juventus.

Koulibaly moved to Napoli from Belgian side Racing Genk in 2014 and the Senegalese defender has scored seven times in 147 games in all competitions over the past four seasons at the Italian club.
Arsenal and Chelsea FC have both struggled defensively in the current campaign to raise questions about the future of both managers Arsene Wenger and Antonio Conte.
Manchester United have spent £60m on two centre-halves over the past two seasons: Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof.
