Jose Mourinho explains what’s wrong with Alexis Sanchez at Man United

Jose Mourinho says Alexis Sanchez's struggles at Man United are because of him signing in January

Jose Mourinho believes that Alexis Sanchez’s struggles at Manchester United are because of the Chile international having signed mid-way through the season.
Sanchez has been getting used to life at Old Trafford since moving to the club from Arsenal in the January transfer window, as part of the same deal which saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan head in the opposite direction.
However, it has been something of a quiet start for the 29-year-old in a Manchester United shirt, with most fans agreeing that he is yet to hit anything near top gear for Mourinho’s men.
But the Portuguese coach is not worried about Sanchez’s slow start to life at Old Trafford and says it is only a matter of time until he finds his feet for the Red Devils.
Speaking at a news conference before the Liverpool FC clash on Saturday, Mourinho said: “What is wrong [with Sanchez] is that he came at the worst moment of the season, in the winter market.
“That’s why I don’t like the winter market very much. I think this was a chance that we didn’t want to lose and we took it.
“But we don’t believe a lot in the winter market. And for sure next season will be better for him.
“But of course he is learning how to play with us and we are learning how to get the best out of him.”
Sanchez will be hoping to help Manchester United book their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League on Tuesday night when the Red Devils host Sevilla in the return leg of their last 16 clash.
The Red Devils are aiming to try and finish in the top four this season after they ended up in sixth place in the Premier League table last term.
