Arsenal sent scouts to watch Andrija Zivkovic help Benfica beat Sporting Lisbon last weekend but will face competition from Manchester United for the winger, according to a report in Portugal.

Portuguese media outlet O Jogo, as quoted by The Sun, is reporting that the Gunners are interested in the Serbia international following his impressive performances in Portugal.

The 21-year-old has scored three times and has made three assists in 17 appearances in the Portuguese top flight this season, while Zivkovic created one goal in five games in the Champions League.

The same article states that Manchester United are also interested in the Serbian starlet after he played 31 minutes against the Red Devils in their 1-0 home loss in the Champions League group stage.

The Red Devils already have one of Serbia’s best players in their ranks in the shape of Nemanja Matic, who is thought to be close with the club’s Portuguese head coach Jose Mourinho.

According to the same story, Everton, Leicester, Liverpool, West Ham, Tottenham, Aston Villa, Southampton and Swansea also sent scouts to watch the promising forward along with Arsenal and Manchester United.

Zivkovic has established himself as a key player at Benfica since his move from Partizan Belgrade in 2016.
