Arsenal scout £10.8m-rated talent ahead of summer transfer window

As reported by Portuguese outlet O Jogo, Arsenal have recently sent scouts to check on the progress of Benfica midfielder Andrija Zivkovic.

What’s the story?

Arsenal are expected to have a busy summer transfer window after another disappointing season in the English Premier League, with the potential for exits and arrivals high.

One player they appear to be interested in is Benfica’s Andrija Zivkovic, with O Jogoreporting the Gunners sent scouts to take in Benfica’s 1-0 defeat to Porto at the weekend.

Rated at £10.8m by Transfermarkt, will the Serbian international emerge as a firm transfer target this summer?

Who is he?

Zivkovic hasn’t been in Portugal for too long, making just 50 appearances for Benfica since moving from Partizan Belgrade in 2016. However, he’s certainly making quite an impression in that time.

He’s emerged as a first team regular for the club this season and overall has four goals and 16 assists for the Portuguese club, including contributions in this season’s UEFA Champions League.

With 24 goals and 13 assists for Partizan in his homeland before his big move, it’s clear he has a potential be an elite talent, he is still just 21 years of age after all.

He may not be a household name around Europe quite yet but a move to Arsenal could be the making of him, especially if he can recreate the form he’s shown for the two clubs he’s played for so far.
