Wolves ready to make ambitious summer transfer window move for £110,000-a-week star

As reported by The Daily Mail, Wolverhampton Wanderers are poised to make an ambitious move for Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere this summer.

What’s the story?

After confirming their return to the English Premier League at the weekend, it’s all set to be a big transfer window for Wolves as they look to build a squad that can compete with the rest of the top-flight.

Surviving relegation will be their main aim and it seems Nuno Santo is already building a list of potential targets to help achieve that.

One player on his radar is Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere, according to The Daily Mail.

They reckon that the promoted side are ready to capitalise on the England international’s contract drama at the Emirates and sign him on a free transfer.

Reported to be earning around £110,000-a-week at the Gunners, can Wolves offer him a new home at Molineux next term?

Would he be a good signing?

Powered by Ruben Neves and Romain Saiss this season, the Wolves midfield has been the driving force behind their promotion bid and Jack Wilshere would likely only complement that further.

The addition of another quality midfielder would give Santo tactical flexibility should he decide to deviate from his 3-4-3 formation, with Wilshere capable of playing from a more defensive position alongside other midfielders to further forward behind a striker.

The midfielder appears to have put the majority of his injury problems behind him, making 35 appearances for the Gunners this season and again being called up to England squads.

With no transfer fee and the quality to compete in the Premier League, if they can pull it off, then Wolves should pursue his signing strongly
